Feelin' It

I don't blog as often as I should, mainly because my life constantly revolves around design briefs, but also because I am a slight perfectionist. I seem to be quite careful about what I deem suitable to blog about, to reveal to the entire online population. I think I need to get over this, and even though it may be vain/narcissistic, just post about whateverrrrr I want. So this post is simply about fashion photos/clothes/outfits I have recently come to adore. I think, subconsciously, my fashion tastes are telling me I want to road trip it across the US...plus I'm also loving basics with that little something extra- straps, holes, tails, you name it. I bought a taily t-shirt the other day, soon to come. Enjoy.

"Violin D'Ingres"- Man Ray

How AMAZING is this shoot?! It's "Le Cirque" for Marie Claire Italia, April 2010. I really love over the top fashion shoots that incorporate fantasy and fairytale. High fashion is so exaggerated that there is a wide berth for over styling. Not only is the circus like feel of the shoot brilliant, the photographs are shot in a way that almost makes them seem like old circus posters- the soft lens creates a blurred edge and evokes a feeling of nostalgia.
I especially like the subtle reference to Man Ray's "Violin D'Ingres" in the last image of the shoot. The ringleader is playing the woman like a violin- an idea initially championed by Man Ray's depiction of a woman's back as a violin.
The model, Sophie Vlaming, keeps this spread up to date with geometric leggings and boyfriend blazers.

Lara Vincent Headdress

I am obsessed with Lara Vincent flowery headdresses that I saw Rumi Neely wearing on her blog. They're 75-300 dollars to custom order, I think I'll figure out the amount in pounds and just go for it! I would like a black one like Rumi's or maybe a white one... black will probably look better with blondish hair. Want, want, want!

Oh and how cute are her "littles"?! I am TERRIFIED of sharks, but the combination of the gold and the light pink ribbon somehow makes it look cute!
