Just before dusk after a day in the pool.
I was in Billabong because I was with my boyfriend who occasionally likes to wear surf clothing- he's a wind surfer/ sailor at heart, and usually I wouldn't find much in there but  spied this vest in the sales rack. It's perfect for chilling at the pool, but paired with these leather shorts and some boot heels the vest would look cool at nighttime too.

Grazia and Bloomingdale's hosted an event "Let's FACE IT" to sample Bloomingdale's beauty department products this summer. I was equipped with a make up sheet to fill in with products I liked, my favourites were both Bobbi Brown and MAC (see image).

Whilst the make up testing was going down, Magnolia Bakery mini cupcakes were being passed around as well as graffiti artists doing their thang live and DJ Bliss banging out some beats. I managed to scavenge a red velvet cupcake and a creamy chocolate cupcake, they were INCREDIBLE, it was worth going to the event for the cuppycakes alone!

I was given a goodie bag in the traditional and world renowned style of Bloomingdale's "little brown bag". Again, the bag alone would have made me quite content (Graphic designers are highly excited by typefaces and fonts). In my bag was a very cute mini Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick, some boys smelly stuff (boo) as well as a free manicure, make up 101 and make over courtesy of Bloomingdale's Dubai! My friend Jane and I were snapped a few times for Grazia magazine so we'll have to see if we make it in the next few weeks! :)

Thought I'd try and be extra smart and play on the empty pool setting by wearing a nautical themed outfit! Zara is perfect for clothes that are casual yet tailored and sophisticated. My striped shirt is a timeless staple of my wardrobe that I have had for aaaages but the trousers are recently bought; they're perfect for summer as they're really light but still smarten up a loose tee or vest- i heart them.

Well first things first I really need to practise not cutting my head off in photos! The pool in the back garden is completed but the landscaping around it and technical things have not been finished yet so I have an empty pool to play in :) I love the rows and rows of tiny blue squares- what a backdrop. (i love squares and straight lines) 

I love love loooove wearing vests with EVERYTHING but my faves are really gappy (?!) at the arms, often resulting in my bra on show for the entire world to see. There have been too many occasions when embarrassed guy mates have told me to readjust. SO I got a cute black bandeau top to wear under my gappy vests. The black one was a success so I decided to buy some more (£3). Whilst perusing in Forever 21 I saw an acid green bandeau top and knew I had to have it! I was weirdly and immediately attracted to the bright colour- I think because when you wear it under a vest you are just showing a flash of vivid colour opposed to if you wore a top in the same colour (continually overwhelming innocent bystanders). The photos don't show the true brightness of the top but they come quite close.

I arrived back home to the sunny shores of Dubai after completing all my university work- i.e SUMMER has begun! I find it really easy to waste time and now am a master at relaxing and doing nothing, so for the first few days of the holidays I have been to the cinema (Prince of Persia), watched DVDs from our massive collection of newish releases (A Single Man, Shutter Island, Fantastic Mr Fox) and been shopping with my lovely Mama. I picked up this cute little jersey, denim-look jacket from Forever 21 it was on sale, cheap as chips- a very handy item to own, especially for summer in the UK when the weather is SO unpredictable.

I didn't go out intentionally looking for new bracelets but found these 2 bad boys on a whim whilst shopping for a vacuum cleaner. I'd seen the Bebe bracelet in Grazia magazine and really liked it, so when I saw a similar one in Forever 21 I snapped it up immediately, for about a fifth of the price! It's funny, I only just realised the bracelets are very similar in terms of they both have gold placed inside them! I was quite mesemerised by the gold LV logo and flowers inside of the Louis Vuitton bracelet, and after a 10 minute think I decided I'd go for it and get that bracelet too. :)
